October 1, 1910 — GAMBLING CLOSES IN NEVADA

From the Nevada State Journal, October 1, 1910,

gambling2Stilled forever is the click of the roulette wheel, the rattle of the dice, and the swish of the cards in gambling houses in Nevada. Promptly at midnight last night, the play ceased, the dealers were paid off, the lights were extinguished, and the doors were locked. The roulette, crap, and faro tables were covered with sheeting.
